Southampton versus Chelsea result

Southampton versus Chelsea result 06/10/2019

Result: Southampton 1-4 Chelsea.

After today's match against Southampton which ended 1-4 at Southampton home , they interviewed Chelsea boss (Frank Lampard) on today's performance.

below are what he said.

Lampard: "I am pleased. It finishes this period with a win. Today was the opposite to that Sheffield United game. I wanted to finish strong. And it was relatively comfortable at a tough place to come if you are not at it.

Lampard Also said: "There were some great goals, and then we got over some sloppy moments. I thought we were generally comfortable and saw the game out.

Lampard on Abraham: "When people are in form, that happens. People were questioning him, but he is not just an incredible handful for defenders, he is getting his goals as well. I trusted him at the start of the season. He also has Giroud and Batshuayi there and he has made the place his own at the moment. I will keep on him because I want more. He took a whack on the back of the knee, but he is ok. I think he wanted the applause.

Lampard on Hudson-Odoi’s performance: "His work rate was good. He got his assist. He had some opportunities, but he will get better. Fitness has been an issue after the injury, but he is getting there.

Lampard on the team's balance: "It is good. A lot of these boys are mates, having come through together. It is great, because they want to improve. The experienced ones as well. What Willian today was excellent. I think he has been our best player over the past five games.

Lampard on expectation: "I think we are a few points short of where we should be, based on performances. I am happy where we are, it should give us determination, the minute you relax, it can hurt you. If we can keep going like this, I hope we will be challenging right up there"
